VAULT: modular stacking toolbox system

Modular storage system for hardware, designed as a digital 3D-printable project for customizable workshop organization.

VAULT is a modular stacking toolbox system designed as a digital 3D-printable project, so you print exactly the storage you need and add more as projects grow. It offers 95 module sizes built around the 42mm Gridfinity standard, with S, M, L, and XL width groups that nest cleanly and 1F, 2F, and 4F floor heights that combine without remainder or awkward gaps, letting inserts drop straight in without cutting or shimming. A mechanical latch-and-stopper mechanism locks stacked modules firmly without forcing and releases cleanly, while full-extension drawers, dual-layer locks, a labeling system, and customizable facades keep every compartment sorted and findable. Because everything is printed on demand in whatever filament you load, the whole system can be color-coded by project, category, or preference, and finished projects leave behind modules ready to be relabeled and reassigned rather than obsolete bins. The frame uses just four bolts, with every other part— runners, latch, oval lock, and geared rails— printed with break-away supports and reduced wall thickness to use as little material as possible while staying rigid.
