BluHub is a 9-in-1 expansion hub that combines a Blu-ray optical drive with multi-port USB connectivity and card readers, addressing the growing tension between the persistence of optical media for archival and legacy content and the removal of optical drives from modern laptops. Blu-ray discs remain a relevant storage medium for two distinct use cases: long-term archival of photos, videos, and documents, where optical media’s stability and independence from cloud or hard-drive failure make it attractive for irreplaceable data; and access to legacy content — purchased movies, software install discs, and burned archives — that exists only on optical media.
