A palm-sized mini laser engraver designed for small creative projects, personalized gifts, maker labels, and selected craft materials
The Hanboost T1 breaks laser engraving out of the dedicated workshop by shrinking a full-performance machine into a pocket-sized, fully enclosed body that fits in a backpack and runs on any USB-C power source, including a standard power bank. Weighing less than a can of soda, the T1 turns a coffee shop table, a craft fair booth, a living room, or a kitchen counter into an engraving station, with no power outlet required, no dedicated room needed, and no goggles to wear. At its core is a blue diode laser with 500mW or 1.6W of optical output— the shorter wavelength of blue light is absorbed more deeply by organic materials, producing darker, crisper engravings with higher contrast than red or violet-blue lasers of comparable power. A 0.05mm engraving accuracy captures fine text, intricate patterns, and photographic detail that larger machines struggle to match at this scale. Safety is engineered into the enclosed design: an OD4+ observation window allows bare-eye viewing of the engraving process, built-in tilt detection automatically cuts laser power at 15° tilt, and an active cooling system maintains safe temperatures across extended sessions. The laser module is replaceable, letting users start with the 500mW standard head and upgrade to the 1.6W head for more power and creative range; removable color covers in orange, red, and green add personalization and simplify cleaning. An optional height extension stand raises the unit for taller objects such as wooden boxes, frames, and gift boxes, and the T1 supports angled and vertical positioning for larger or fixed objects in advanced scenarios. A wireless mobile app connects in 3 steps, and full compatibility with LightBurn and LaserGRBL means experienced makers use the software they already know. A library of over 1,000 ready-to-engrave design files is provided free to Kickstarter backers, making the T1 equally approachable for beginners picking up engraving for the first time and for makers taking their craft anywhere inspiration strikes.
